OKSANA ALEALI

This blog has come to life as a result of my journey in information security world as a female and someone who had zero experience in IT but was fascinated with this field and took a risk to explore and build a successful career.

Having work experience in a banking industry and master’s degree in sustainability, information or cyber security has never crossed my mind until my husband started working in this field. Daily evening conversations and news around a security state of any business made me realize how fascinating and scary it is at the same time. I saw that career opportunities and potential to make a difference are astounding. I realized that I must be a part of this growing demand for security professionals. I am extremely fortunate to have come across experts in this field who are my role models and mentors. It is amazing to see how many people are willing to share their experience when you ask.

There are not so many InfoSec ladies in this field. And this can possibly be attributed to a fact that very few people understand or have any idea what this field is really about. I believe women can be equally successful in this domain and bring a new perspective to a puzzle.

A few years later, I have gained tremendous experience and industry leading certifications. Many exciting opportunities unfolded in front of me as a result of my hard work and focus. This blog is a combination of my experience, career advice, and technical knowledge bites that will help you excel in this exciting and fulfilling field.
